The interdisciplinary committee of the stadtkunstprojekte e.V., consisting of Prof. Matthias Sauerbruch (architect), Kristin Feireiss (curator and critic for architecture), Prof. Dr. Karl Ganser (chairman of the DAZ /German Architecture Center/-Association), Prof. Dr. Ing. Jörg Schlaich (engineer), Dr. Hannes Swoboda (European representative, ), Dr. Claudia Büttner (art historian and curator), Prof. Stephen Craig (artist), and the curator, Heike Catherina Mueller, nominated 42 artists, architects and engineers to tender a consultative procedure. 34 of these invited participants take part in con_con 2002/2003. In spring 2002, a colloquium and workshop with all participants will be held in Berlin to get to know each other and to study the urban development of the Spree with its bridges. The project designs shall be developed by a team in which ideally an architect, an artist and an engineer are constantly involved.
In co-operation with the committee, the stadtkunstprojekte e.V will conduct feasibility studies on received drafts (applications for permission from the Office of Civil Engineering, questions concerning preservation orders, safety, etc.). Finally, a decision regarding the project's realisation is reached by the committee and curator. in 2003, 14 projects of this consultative procedure should be realised for a period of five month.
